Beemer Back Center Techniques
Health can no longer be a consideration of only parts of an individual; health must be a consideration of the body as a whole. Our body's natural state is wellness... until interferences occur. There are six major interferences that must be addressed for anyone to hold an adjustment: structural imbalance, electromagnetic radiation, nutritional deficiencies, allergies and sensitivities, negative emotional patterns, and toxicity. Subluxation (vertebral misalignment) causes pain and disease, but we must identify what causes the subluxation for each patient. This page describes some of the techniques and procedures that are used at Beemer Back Center for treatment of subluxations.

B.E.S.T. - Bio Energetic Sysnchronization Technique
This technique is a hands-only, non-force technique that utilizes pressure points to allow structure and function to balance and heal the body. The technique is based on the premise that the cause of illness is a result of interruptions of the body's energy flow. This is an excellent technique for those that dislike or cannot tolerate classic chiropractic care.
Brimhall Wellness and Instrument Adjusting
This procedure allows for safe bone movement with less force while simultaneously stimulating the nerve receptors. This provides a more effective adjustment in both the spinal and extremity areas. The body knows how to care for itself, provided the six causes of disease do not interfere with its work. Dr. Beemer can explain how six interferences to health can be overcome and six steps to wellness can be achieved using this technique. By implementing the six steps to wellness, we can removes the six interferences, thereby healing the body the way it was meant to be healed...naturally.
COX Flexion-Distraction
COX is a gentle, distraction decompression adjustment procedure for low back pain. COX is an excellent technique for a ruptured/herniated/bulged disc, failed back surgery syndrome, leg pain, sciatica, facet syndrome, and degenerative disc disease. For patients with a "disc" related problem the COX technique provides the following benefits:
1. Increases the disc height
2. Removes irritation on the spinal nerve
3. Allows the center of the disc to asume its
central position
4. Restores vertebral joint motion
For patients with other conditions causing back pain the COX technique provides these benefits plus the ability to place the spinal joints into normal... painless movements so as to restore spinal motion without pain.
Diversified Technique
Diversified Technique is the classic chiropractic technique. This technique was developed to address biomechanical failure in each section of the spine as it relates to specific subluxation. Full spine, hands-on techniques are used to deliver a deep thrust, which makes an osseous (popping) sound as the adjustment is given.
Physiotherapy Procedures
Ultrasound
Ultrasound uses sound waves at high frequencies to aid the healing process in areas of injury. Specifically, its effects are to generate deep tissue heat, relieve swelling, break-up areas of toxic waste, and relieve pain with deep micro massage.
Electrical Muscle Stimulation
Electrical Muscle Stimulation is electrical current that affects the myo-neural junction - the area the nerve goes into the muscle. As the electrical current is increased there will be an involuntary contraction of the muscular area being treated. The application of electrical muscle stimulation promotes healing and strengthening of the involved area. By relaxing the muscles adjacent to the spine, the vertebrae are allowed to move more freely, thus helping to relieve pain and nerve irritation.
Intersegmental Traction
Intersegmental Traction is used to improve flexibility and circulation in the joints of the spine. Traction also opens up the joint and increases circulation flow in the spine. As the spine heals, it must do so with both mobility and strength to assure maximum recovery of strength and flexibility. Due to its soothing effect on the spine and spinal nerves, intersegmental traction also helps reduce tension and nervousness.
Spinal Decompression Traction
Spinal Decompression therapy is an exciting modern healthcare treatment for back and neck pain due to a variety of conditions. There is a great deal of research to support the effectiveness of spinal decompression in relieving pain and symptoms. A spinal decompression therapy system consists of a split table that is programmed by a computer to provide cycling distractive forces along the axis of the lumbar spine. The intensity of intermittent force is increased gradually to help prevent muscles from contracting in reaction to being stretched. Spinal decompression therapy is claimed to actually create a negative pressure (a vacuum) within a disc, which allows disc material from a herniated disc to be pulled back into the disc. It is believed that reducing the pressure in the lumbar discs may also promote healing of the disc as fluids and nutrients enter the disc through diffusion.
Cold Laser
Low-level lasers penetrate deeply into the skin and work by restoring normal cellular function. Physiologic effects include improved metabolism, circulation, and tissue healing.
Massage Therapy
Massage stimulates circulation and production of lymph fluid to provide more efficient and faster healing time. Several techniques are used at Beemer Back Center,

including Swedish, deep tissue, reflexology, and trigger point therapy. Stress has proven to be extremely detrimental to an individual's health; massage has proven to be a very effective stress reliever. In conjunction with the above mentioned chiropractic techniques most patients experience relief and pleasure from this ancient healing technique.
